Autism A1

This is the start of my journey to pursue a dream. A dream to manage children. Currently, I am taking care of a child with autism. This is not a nanny job, but I am more of an educator and learning speech therapist.

I will call this boy, Ivan.

Once a week, I will sit through a one hour speech therapy session with Ivan. In this session, I will learn take note of what the speech therapist does with Ivan. Currently, the focus is to improve Ivan's expression of emotions and verbal communication. Therefore, his sessions includes:
1. Pretend play
2. Telling a story by looking at a set of four pictures.
3. Telling a story by comparing two pictures.

His school says that Ivan's ball skills needs improvement.
Therefore, I came up with a few ball games to make Ivan more able to catch the ball. I find that he does not know how to grip the ball that is why he fails to catch it.
1. Dropping the ball from a higher level and telling Ivan to catch it with his hand while gripping it.
2. Throwing the ball upwards and catch the ball when it falls back down.
3. Football - Kicking ball, Freezing ball with leg, Practice everything that football teacher taught.
4. Ball passing - forward, backwards, below and above - motion: slow to fast
